FOR US CAR DEALERSHIPS

ID verification for car dealerships

Catch fake driver’s licenses, stolen or synthetic identities and edited pay stubs before you finance or hand over the keys. From your salesperson’s phone, in two minutes, with the PDF that proves your diligence.

Dealership fraud does not look like fraud

Stolen identity

Someone else’s real license, or a copy with another photo. The loan is booked in the victim’s name and the car disappears.

Synthetic identity

A made-up name on a real SSN, a credit history built over months and documents made to match. It passes the credit pull; it does not pass a check of the document and the face.

Edited pay stubs and statements

Income inflated to make the payment fit. Flawless on screen, detectable in the forensic analysis of the file and in the numbers against each other.

Straw buyers

A person with good credit signs for someone else who keeps the car. The live face and the time-stamped record show who was really at the dealership.

VALIDENTO COUNTER

What Counter checks before you sign

Driver’s license

Licenses from every US state and territory: the PDF417 barcode, the state’s format, the dates and the photo.

The person, live

The customer does ValiD on their own phone: face match and liveness. A photo of a screen or a printout does not pass.

Income against the payment

Pay stubs and bank statements against the issuer’s genuine format, and whether the pay covers the monthly payment.

OFAC and PEPs

The customer against OFAC’s SDN list and other sanctions and PEP lists, on every check.

The same document, again

Fraudsters repeat. Validento recognizes a document already presented on another case, under another name.

In the F&I office only

In back-office mode the salesperson sees a neutral screen; the manager sees the outcome and decides. The customer never sees that something failed.

The rules that already apply to you

01FTC Red Flags Rule

A dealer that arranges financing is a "creditor" and needs a written program to spot the red flags of identity theft. Counter documents every check.

02FTC Safeguards Rule

Your customers’ data must be protected. Counter keeps document photos encrypted on the case and does not store ValiD images.

03OFAC

Selling to or financing a person on the SDN list is prohibited. Screening is part of every check.

04Form 8300

More than $10,000 in cash, in one sale or related sales: Form 8300 within 15 days. Counter fills it in for you.

See it with your own document

A free ten-minute video demo: a sale, a photo, a QR and the outcome. No commitment.
